COMMONWEALTH GAMES GLASGOW 2026

The Commonwealth Games return to Glasgow in 2026, from 23rd July until 2nd August!

As only the third city in history to host the Games twice, Glasgow brings deep experience and unmistakable character to this global moment. From world-class sport to street-level celebrations, Glasgow 2026 will be an 11-day festival of energy, community and ambition — all set within an eight-mile corridor that puts fans, athletes and the city side by side. Swimming and Para Swimming will be hosted at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, the same venue as the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

TEAM NI MEDALLISTS
BIRMINGHAM 2022

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was one of great success for Team NI swimmers. Day 1 of finals proved that our swimmers are at the apex of our sport, as Barry McClements claimed bronze in the Men’s 100m Backstroke (S9).

Carrying the momentum forward, Bethany Firth was Northern Ireland’s next medallist in the water, claiming Gold in the Women’s 200m Freestyle (S14).

Rounding out the 2022 Commonwealth Games in style was Daniel Wiffen, who raced in the 1500m Freestyle final who went on to win the silver medal.

Looking ahead to Glasgow 2026, we are excited to see what our Team NI athletes can do on the world stage once again…
