Swim Ulster is expanding its Learn to Swim programme with a series of short, focused camps aimed at giving children from low socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to learn this vital life skill.
To support the initiative, Swim Ulster is creating a database of qualified swimming teachers who are interested in taking part in future camps. Teachers who sign up will be the first to hear about upcoming opportunities and can be matched to camps in their local areas.
An expression of interest form has been launched online to make it easy for swimming teachers to register. Swim Ulster is particularly keen to hear from those available for its next camp, taking place soon in Belfast.
By working together, Swim Ulster hopes to grow participation in swimming and ensure more children gain access to water safety and swimming lessons.
