TECHNICAL OFFICIALS
WHAT WE DO
Swimming officials play a vital role in ensuring fair competition at all levels of the sport, from grassroots meets to the Olympic Games. They enforce rules, uphold safety standards, and ensure races run smoothly. At local levels, officials help foster a love for swimming by guiding young athletes and maintaining fair play. As they gain experience, they can officiate at national and international events, including the World Championships and Olympics. Their dedication and knowledge help maintain the integrity of the sport, ensuring that every race—no matter the level—is conducted fairly, consistently, and in the true spirit of competition.
Swim Ulster Regional Judge Courses 2026
To help clubs meet Swim Ireland’s Licensed Officials requirements, Swim Ulster is offering a series of Regional Judge Courses over the coming months.
Swim Ulster is proud to deliver competitions to an exceptionally high standard. To maintain this quality, we rely on a dedicated team of qualified officials who volunteer their time and expertise at our meets. As our competition programme continues to grow, we are always looking to welcome new officials to our team.
Our officials play a vital role in the success of every event—and they truly do have the best seat in the house! We encourage clubs to support and nominate volunteers to join this rewarding and enjoyable team.
Please see below for details of upcoming Regional Judge Courses. These courses are provided free of charge to all Swim Ulster affiliated clubs and will help clubs fulfil their Swim Ireland officiating requirements.
